The Virginia Law Foundation's mission includes oversight of Virginia Continuing Legal Education (Virginia CLE®), a continuing legal education sponsor providing the state's largest selection of quality, Virginia-specific seminars and practice handbooks. All seminars qualify for MCLE credit in Virginia.
The Virginia CLE® website at www.vacle.org provides online registration capability for all current live, video replay, telephone, CD-ROM, and online seminar offerings as well as the ability to purchase publications in print or electronic formats. The website averages hundreds of hits per day and is the primary way for attorneys to find out about Virginia CLE’s seminars and publications. Important information and updates are also provided via social media channels including a Facebook page and LinkedIn groups.
Headquartered in Charlottesville, Virginia CLE® has a staff of 27 and an annual operating budget of about $5 million. Since its inception in 1960, it has provided thousands of continuing legal education programs to Virginia lawyers. Operational policy direction is provided by a CLE Committee comprised of 15 practicing lawyers and representatives from most of Virginia’s law schools. The Chair of the CLE Committee serves as an ex-officio member of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
